Kryoz Technologies is a specialised technological business in the field of cryogenics. We design, optimise and manufacture small, fully integrated cryocooler systems for specific applications. These stand-alone systems can be used to cryocool advanced electronics , such as low-noise amplifiers, sensors (e.g. IR / X-ray) and superconducting circuits for various markets including:

  • Telecom
  • Measurement and sensing devices
  • Space industry
  • Radio astronomy
  • Medical applications
  • Superconducting circuits

A fully integrated stand-alone system

The stand-alone microcooling system contains a micro cold tip, which is fully optimised for the specific application at hand. The device to be cooled, which is supplied by our customer (e.g. an LNA, SQUID or IR-Sensor), is thermally connected to the microcooler's cold tip. Interfacing between cold tip and the device to be cooled is easy and efficient. Also integration of electrical leads is included in the cooler package which simplifies signal readout and power supply of the electronix circuit.

The micro refrigerators can reach temperatures as low as 100 K (0173 Celsius). With a multi-stage microcooler it is possible to reach temperatures as low as 4K (-296 Celcius). Net cooling powers vary from a few mW to about 150 mW.

By also downscaling the compressor and vacuum chamber, we can manufacture extremely small, fully integrated, stand-alone cryocooling systems. Final system size depends on the required cooling power and temperature.
