This includes; micro reactor systems, chemistry, training, consultancy and engineering.Micro reactor systemsFor R&D use we have developed a fully-automated, standardised, “plug-and-play” micro reactor system called, Labtrix®. Labtrix® is a platform for laboratory based reaction optimisation within glass micro reactors. Currently under production are Protrix® (kg-scale production) and Plantrix® (ton-scale production), together with Labtrix® these systems cover the total user requirements from mg- to ton-scales. Dr Paul Watts is an authority in the field of micro reactor technology, focusing on the use of glass micro reactors. Company backgroundIn February 2006 The University of Hull (UK) and LioniX BV from Enschede (The Netherlands) started a Joint Venture called Chemtrix Ltd. The University of Hull is a leader in micro-reactor research & development. LioniX has a reputation in the development and manufacture of micro systems. Together they possess the key ingredients to be successful in the emerging micro reactor systems business. They decided to start a new company in The Netherlands called Chemtrix BV in order to develop the very promising business case. OrganizationChemtrix BV is located on 2 sites. In Hull (United Kingdom) Dr Paul Watts (CTO) and Dr Charlotte Wiles are running their Chemtrix R&D laboratory within facilities of The University of Hull. All other activities (Management, Engineering, Product Development, Quality Assurance, Marketing & Sales) are located at the Headquarters based on the Chemelot site in Geleen (The Netherlands).
