Flowid designs and optimizes processes to improve your competitive advantage by means of micro flow chemistry. Implementation of Flowid’s technology will decrease production cost, increase yield, and allow you to work safer, with reduced time-to-market. Flowid supplies micro flow setups, with the engineering expertise for successful implementation of laboratory devices, pilot- and production plants. To demonstrate the advantages and possibilities of this technology Flowid offers a fully equipped application laboratory and accessible feasibility studies.

Application Laboratory

In Flowid’s application laboratory commercially available micro flow equipment is centralized and demonstrated to industrial organizations. It is an open laboratory, open to all industrial organizations and open to all equipment suppliers to place their equipment.
Flowid’s application laboratory is the starting point for organizations to experience the benefits of micro flow chemistry. It shows that micro flow chemistry can be utilized on all scales, from research to production. This, combined with trainings and workshops, proofs the potential of micro flow chemistry towards organizations. It assists in understanding the different approach compared to traditional (batch) chemistry and supports organizations to successful implementation.
The workshops are accessible for laboratory analysts, process engineers, researchers and management. During the workshops several lectures will be given by scientific and industrial specialists to increase the theoretical background. Subsequently hands-on training on different platforms is offered. After getting familiar with the equipment and learning how to use its full potential, the overall success rate is increased.

Products

Flowid offers three consecutive products that result in an optimized production process based on flow chemistry. Proving the potential of the selected process by means of a feasibility study, followed by a scale up towards pilot scale and implementation at production level. During this process the financial aspects of the project are closely monitored by constantly fine tuning the project’s business case. Initial investment is circumvented by the possibilities the application laboratory supplies.

Feasibility

Flowid’s feasibility study shows that micro flow chemistry actually improves your process in means of efficiency, safety and controllability. Making it a cost effective solution, also if your process is hard to perform using conventional methods.
The general procedure for a feasibility study consists of the following steps:
1. Process selection / problem identification
2. Optimizing the most important reaction parameters
3. Produce product sample
4. Translate results into financial benefits
When the results are promising, the next step is to proceed to pilot scale.

Pilot scale

Pilot scale tests demonstrate that the feasibility results are applicable for production dimensions.
Flowid designs and assembles a fully operational pilot plant, including piping, sensors, pumps, control and interfacing.
In addition a pilot scale setup can be used as a small production unit. For larger capacities the pilot scale is upgraded to production levels.

Production scale

The final product is implemented at production level. With respect to conventional methods (e.g. batch) micro flow processes are characterized by easy translation into production capacities.
Flowid designs and assembles a fully operational production plant based upon the proven pilot scale plant.
After implementation Flowid provides on-site support.
