Bio:

Trained as an analyst biochemistry / molecular biology. After 10 years working in medical biology at TNO in Rijswijk switched to “commerce”. First as a district representative in the west of the Netherlands, later in an international setting with a German manufacturer of diagnostic quick test products a la the pregnancy test (Schleicher & Schuell).

After several acquisitions of this company, once it was owned by GE, switched to another German company (Scienion). Again in charge of sales (and also sales management) in mainly Europe. This company produces instruments for dispensing very small volumes of liquids, for example for loading sensors or printing microarrays. Employed by Surfix in Wageningen since September 2020, where I am responsible for everything related to commerce.

Ambition for MinacNed:

In 2012 I became a member of MinacNed as Dutch delegate of Scienion in Berlin. The aim was then to gain more insight into micro and nano-Netherlands. And to be able to exhibit during the MincroNanoConference. For several years I have been involved in the organization of this event. And was asked to join the board of MinacNed in early 2020.

It has become clear in recent months that the Netherlands has become too dependent on foreign countries with regard to the manufacturing industry. I think that many Dutch companies make beautiful products and do a good job. And it would be great if those companies in the micro and nano industry would do more together and meet at MinacNed. I hope to be able to play a role in getting more companies actively involved in our association.
