15.30h: Bronkhorst’s Challenges in Sustainability – Henk Tappel, Director Bronkhorst
It is clear that Bronkhorst’s products enable our customers to control their processes better, thus preventing waste and making better use of raw materials. However, the discussion about what is sustainable and how it all relates to the UN’s SDG’s sometimes leads to fuzzy answers. Henk will outline the history of the company, the principles that have been guiding it through the years and the dilemma’s facing us in some of our customer’s applications if we really want to bring sustainability to the next level.
16.10h: MEMS sensors and technology at Bronkhorst – Wouter Sparreboom, MEMS (flow) sensor technology
In close cooperation with the University of Twente, Bronkhorst has been working on several MEMS based (flow) sensors at an R&D level. This has led to the introduction of 2 MEMS based product lines.
Wouter will address research and development on flow sensors using the thermal and Coriolis measurement principles. Moreover, Wouter will present Bronkhorst’s experience with MEMS based sensors for the measurement of physical parameters such as viscosity and density and thermal properties like thermal diffusivity. Wouter will also highlight the role and importance of a strong cooperation with (local) companies, educational – and research institutes.
