Micro-nano community as a crucial ecosystem for the urgent transitions

Abstract:
The micro-nano community places itself in de core of the triangle of urgent transitions, key enabling technologies and governmental policies. Its importance cannot be underestimated but comes with a responsibility to help solving societal challenges. Continuation of investments in this field from the three involved partners, government, knowledge institutes and companies, is a prerequisite to fulfill this role.

Biography Marc Hendrikse:
Marc Hendrikse is chairman of the Topsector High Tech Systems and Materials (HTSM). Since the start of the governmental Topsector policy in 2011, he was appointed member of the Topteam by the minister of Economic Affairs. In 2017 he became the chairman.

In his 35-year career Marc Hendrikse has gained broad experience in de technological industry. The first two decades in the Automotive sector, with international management positions at DAF Trucks and as managing director of tourist coach builder BOVA, followed by 15 years in the High-Tech Equipment industry as CEO of NTS-Group. In August 2020, he retired from this position.

Next to his role as chairman of the Topsector HTSM, Marc holds several board memberships. Both in the public as well as in the private domain.
